 Reflections

Experience
My knowledge of typography was pretty confusing in the first place and not going to lie sometimes I  would still find it hard to keep up with typography works given by the lecturer but slowly I'm starting to get a gist of it through the guidance from the lecture video playlist and of course the constructive feedbacks Sir gave during class consultations. I have realized how important writing down the feedback was throughout the classes because it helps me refine my work. My overall experience in typography is still a bit puzzling and I still need to do a better job at it but all I can do now is just to practice in hopes I'll be able to achieve satisfaction in doing typography work.

Observations
This 14 weeks of typography class has made me pay more attention and observed more on the letterforms around me, like the signboards, posters, etc. I would be analyzing the text kerning, and how much spacing it should be to look better on the boards as if I was judging my own works and this shows that everywhere you go there will be some sort of typography element surrounding you. Not only that, I have noticed that the type of letterforms we are using in any situation can truly affects on how the product will be turning out so it is definitely crucial to choose the fonts wisely to fit the criteria of a work.

Findings
I find that typography holds such a big impact not just in the designing field, but also in our daily lives. Also, it has amazed me how much process needed to be done from handwriting the letter fonts to digitizing them. I had gone through all these in a span of 4 months and this shows that good typography takes time to be produced.
Overall, typography can be an interesting module to learn and experiment with and I indeed learn a lot from Sir Vinod and am still improving my work for the better.
