 Feedbacks

W1 (26/4): Class schedule change/class clash issue which I wasn't aware at first so I missed this week's class

W4 (17/5): (Dissertation Draft) Take a look back on your DRM's critical review and see what they have in common. Maybe there's two articles that have the same topic and can work from there.

W5 (24/5): The intro  + purpose of the literature review revolves around the theme, have to use all 3 articles and mention them at the start of your literature review.

W7 (7/6)
Task 1 + 2
  • Methodology info do write it in past tense formn, and no bullet point forms.
  • Be clear on "from these two articles" in your security factor section of your literature review, which two articles did you meant?
  • (literature review): You should introduce the articles individually first or what the research is about, then compare the three research papers after
  • (3.0 Research Methods): Need to have a research design section to justify all the research questions that has been asked.
  • (5.0 Discussion): Need to add respondents response (primary data), not just your words/opinions. Also bring in the research article from the literature review on how does it relate to the section
  • Just cite the first name of the researcher, put 'the researcher' if it's about you and always to the other researcher(s) with their first name + date.
  • Adding images are important to the dissertation to give people a better visual.

W10 (28/6)
Task 3
  • Amending your title + shorten it, no need to add the subtitles as it's too long.
  • Color Suggestion for booklet design: Mustard gold color as it contrasts with your main color dark blue and also it's eye-catching.
  • Lecturer prefers the Quicksand font over Nunito font as the letter 'a' and maybe 'g' in Quicksand is more rounded and easier to read compared to Nunito font.
  • Can think of a new title that tells a general purpose of the research.
W11 (5/7)
  • Booklet cover design suggestion: Lessen the circle dots/make one main circle in the middle and keep it simple as the title already looks overwhelmed.
  • Title:don’t split the title and make the font size smaller.
  • Check the imprint page and amend the information (to check MIB pg8)
  • Always show your progress no matter how fast or slow your progress is as the lecturer wants to know your progress and be able to give feedback so that we can improve our work better.
W12 (12/7)
Task 4
  • Abstract and key words to add
  • (Introduction): 3rd para is kind of like abstract and feels its part of your problem statement. Just give a general statement like giving introduction on what is e-wallet etc. Replace the 3rd para with the importance of UI design for apps.
  • (Problem statement): This section should be followed by research qs + objectives (eg: after the points before, the last sentence would be 'Therefore, the research qs/objectives are_)
  • Need to add questionnaire design + duration on how long you sent the survey for
W13 (19/7)
  • Remove word count after every section as it's just for your own reference
  • Grammar issues to change
  • Picture credit section no need to put the pictures again, just need to cite it below using the APA format
  • Fig 1(abstract section) suggestion: To find an image that indicates the user is using the TNG app instead of just using the TNG logo.
  • (Appendices): Don't have to show all of your survey results as you have a lot of qs + responses so you can just take a few screenshots on each sections (demographics, general qs, specific qs..)
W14 (26/7)

Reflections

My experience for this module was honestly pretty tough and challenging for me especially when it comes to the writing parts in the dissertation draft. I found myself struggling a lot and finding sites to cite and also trying to reach the word count and etc. There were moments where I felt overwhelmed by the tasks given that I hesitated to consult my lecturer on my assignment progress because I felt that I had too little progress to show and also my pace was slow.

I frequently found myself stuck as I was unable to articulate my thoughts effectively while I was working on the dissertation. This struggle was compounded by the pressure to meet the required word count and also meeting the requirements of the dissertation, which seemed like an unbeatable task at times. Each word I added felt like a monumental effort, and the more I wrote, the more it seemed like the end was nowhere in sight. However, despite these hardships, my lecturer Dr Jinchi was still being patient to not just me but the rest of my coursemates as well in guiding us on our task which I am very grateful for. She gave quite a lot of constructive feedbacks to us consistently on every consultation or tutorial class every week, even when some of our progress was minimal for us to further improve on our task. She made sure that everyone in her class was all aligned with the requirements and had a better understanding of the tasks as all these tasks were progressive so she also helped to keep track on our assignment progress as well. The feedbacks that the lecturer gave provided me better insights in helping me to understand my research topic and objectives. Knowing that my lecturer was understanding and persistent in willing to put extra time to answer our questions and identify what we can improve in our dissertation gave me a sense of encouragement that I have to keep doing the work and also encouraged me to improve my work for the better.

As this module has reached to its end, I've gained invaluable insights into design research, which enhanced my skills in data analysis, in identifying and having a deeper knowledge regarding on my research topic on the factors that affects user satisfaction for a better user experience in e-wallet apps which I specifically done some research on the UI design and also the convenience/ease of use of an e-wallet app. Out of these factors, it already has shown me how important it is to have a visually appealing and easy to use app so that user satisfaction can be fulfilled in the long run. I hope that in the future I get to apply these knowledge well in the further modules or even my working life, being more considerate and knowing what factors that satisfies users in using the different types of app.
